Fantasy tends to be less attracted to Antiquity than to the Middle Ages – with maybe one partial exception : Atlantis. The Atlantean civilization appears as a model of Paradise Lost in a faraway past, but some authors successfully merge Atlantis and the Arthurian legend, through the figure of Merlin.
