Claudel devant Gide Une encombrante influence

Gide was long in indicating his interest towards Claudel’s works, notwithstanding their aesthetic nearness. It’s to his religious echoes that in 1905, as he was working on The narrow Door, he shows himself sensitive, but keeping to the literary creation the fervour that Claudel turns towards religion.
