Enjeux et défis du théâtre libanais contemporain traduit

This study seeks to list all Lebanese plays translated into French and English, focusing on their subject matter and genre, and analysing their positions within Lebanese and European ­cultural activity. It interrogates the motifs which provoked, and ­continue to provoke, the translation of Lebanese dramatic works written in Arabic dialect. Finally, it identifies the issues which hinder the ­continued translation of Lebanese plays into European languages.
