Founded in 1949, the International Association of French Studies (AIEF) promotes the diffusion of the French language, literature, and culture. Bringing together researchers from all over the world, every year it organizes a three-day conference, the proceedings of which are published in the Cahiers de l’Association internationale des études françaises (CAIEF).
The aim is to take stock of the major questions concerning French literature as a whole (authors, themes, genres), but also the art history, music, cinema, and study of the French language. The AIEF strives to keep abreast of current studies being conducted on all these subjects by the entire academic community, in France and around the world.
