- Abstract: Belarus being still a terra incognita for the Europeans, his literary heritage remains unknown, although the Belarusian literature wholly fits in with the European literary tradition. This paper makes an introduction into the history and the sociolinguistic situation influencing the literary process in Belarus, and proposes some reflections on the modern Belarusian speaking poetry in order to reveal its links with its origins and with sources of inspiration came from abroad.
