Abstract: How to teach French by choosing and using dictionaries correctly ? The user approaches the dictionary with a number of questions concerning knowledge and language for which answers are needed in order to decrease the gap between his or her own understanding and that of the linguistic community he or she is part of. Yet in order to obtain the desired response, the user must understand the tool properly.
