- Abstract: One of the peculiarities of sacred texts from the Jewish tradition written in Hebrew is the amphibological dimension of this language’s three-letter roots. On top of a text’s polysemy, there is the amphibology–or double meaning–that remains unresolved by the context in which it appears. Taking part in the tradition of translation is what allows amphibology to be uncovered, when we compare translations that have appeared throughout history.
