If contemporary legal humanism is characterised by the conviction that the evolution of law tends to improve the protection of the individual’s fundamental interests, social law–encompassing employment law and the law of social protection–is one of its least debatable conquests. Yet certain important aspects of economic globalisation, as it is at its present stage, threaten its longevity in more advanced countries.
