Claudel baroquiste

This study focuses on the genesis of the category - aesthetic, spiritual, but also political - of the baroque, as elaborated by Claudel in the course of his reflections on painting and architecture. Its signification stabilised between 1917 and 1919 in the context of Claudel’s reflections on modern religious art.
