Trois écrivains de la Grande Guerre, trois regards, trois voix

These three ­combatants, one French and two German, have illustrated –Genevoix and Junger in the form of a journal, Remarque through novelistic fiction– a new genre: testimonial literature, born from an unimaginable reality that only writing can reproduce. By way of striking realism and portraits of unforgettable men, they preserve the memory of their ­companions and celebrate, over and above barbarism, the heroic camaraderie of the ­combatants.
