The poet and novelist Anna de Noailles was the muse for a generation seduced by the acidic and provocative freshness of her writings. In La Domination, she presents a young male writer who is thrown into a destructive spiral by a string of romantic setbacks. At a high-society party one evening, he taunts the other guests present in very bitter terms.
