AB  - Gérard de Nerval did not confine himself to a specific type of theater but explored numerous forms, from drama to mystery, from comedy based on current events to comic opera. Altogether such variation in genre attests to a great intellectual curiosity and a first-hand relationship with dramatic writing. We aim to analyze Gérard de Nerval’s theatrical works through the prism of genre in order to extract the possible principles behind it, its singularity and main themes.
