AB  - Petrarch did not conceive himself as European, but as a Christian and the restorer of the idea of Rome. In the other side, his Latin and vernacular works has known an outstanding reception in Europe, at least during limited periods and in various national cultures. Nevertheless, we have to ask if such a reception may be considered as a real dynamic, aiming to Europe cultural unification?
