AB  - The extremely important references to painting, photography, optical boxes, and visual spectacles have often been underscored. Nevertheless, the hero of À la recherche du temps perdu considers reproduced images as a utilitarian instrument intended to stimulate voluntary memory. This text studies the external noises heard within, the body-voices in counterpoint to choral-voices, and the memory of mechanical sounds that make it possible to access the involuntary memory that is so precious to the narrator.
