AB  - Found in the course of a conversation between Saint-Loup and the Narrator, does the reference to the “esthetic beauty” of a German bombing of Paris and the French air counter-attack, comparing them to a Wagnerian opera, a painting and a theatre drama, represent a kind of estheticizing of war? This article interprets this assessment and these analogies against the wider background of Proustian esthetics, where setting analogies in relation to one another contributes to revealing the truth.
