AB  - At the deepest layer of Proustian creation lies the fundamental difference between vision and knowledge. Proust walked in Ruskin’s footsteps in order to revive his spirit, but stepped away from his erudition and intellectualism towards a form of knowledge which was his own. The text of the Recherche is infused with Ruskin’s spirit, but in such a subtle manner that only an initiated reader can resurrect it.
