AB  - In her Contes d’une grand-mère, George Sand asserts her affiliation with the classic fantastic short story, but does not hesitate to distinguish herself from it, and deliberately plays with the stylemes characteristic of the genre. The aim is to explore the differences relative to the traditional treatment of description in the literary domain and to show how this serves a double objective, at once pedagogic and poetic, which is revealing of the writer’s approach and objectives.
