AB  - This article interrogates the links between melancholy, prophetic discourse, and poetic inspiration for the French poets of the “Pléiade”. After having recalled the role of melancholy in philosophy and antique medicine, then underlined its importance in Renaissance thought, this work illuminates the prophetic inspiration of the major poets of the Renaissance whose art was marked by Saturn.
