AB  - This article explores the hypothesis that Rimbaud’s “Paris” is intertextually legible as a pastiche of Léon Valade’s “Réclames gratuities”. Though Valade’s poem is first published (in 1872) after Rimbaud’s contributions to the Album zutique, our reading focuses on thematic and formal similarities between the two texts and ultimately argues that the satirical dimension of Rimbaud’s “Paris” is perhaps more coherent than previously suspected.
