AB  - This article seeks to understand the relationship with the marvellous typical of fourteenth-century chansons de geste by analysing the way in which they represent natural phenomena (storms, tempests, and fog). Inspired by genres foreign to the epic universe, and drawing on the heritage of earlier chansons de gestes, these late epics distinguish themselves through their tendency to demystify meteorological phenomena which are attributed less to a supernatural power than a natural source.
