AB  - This article examines some thirteenth-century romances which blur conventions when representing scenes associated with the « bellicose » narrative regime. Not only do warrior episodes adopt a displaced narrative function in relation to the plot of these accounts, but they effect a debarment of the marvellous. The heterogeneity of these scenes confirms that the gap between the epic and the novelistic rests on a partition of registers between marvellous and bellicose subject matter.
