AB  - Like anyone who writes on death, Schehadé necessarily borrows a number of elements from traditional iconography. But he is, above all, a playwright and a poet of innovation: despite the tragic aspect which he never denies, death is for him a smile, a ritual of fusion with nature and a dreamlike goodbye to the world. These are three aspects which, at the same time, underline the constant spiritual orthodoxy which explains the importance of the funeral ritual in his work, and the equally frequent recourse to the poetic image.
