AB  - The etymology of the oldest part of the Arabic corpus is in a period of renewal as far as the identification of loans is concerned. The present article sets forth, using representative examples, how a rigorous and interdisciplinary methodology is necessary for recognizing and isolating these loans underneath the contradictory meaning of certain roots as well as in structures of rare or unusual derivation.
