AB  - In this paper we attempt to provide an overview of the ­cultural ­complexity present in the Mediterranean area. Beginning with the definition of the word ­culture, we focus on the pluralistic and multi-faceted entity embraced by the over-arching term of Mediterranean Culture. Our first objective is to highlight some ­complexities borne of the “­cultural diversity of the Mediterranean”; subsequently, we reflect upon obvious disparities proper to the EU in order to better analyse the very question of language.
