AB  - The current state of musical lexicography confirms that only two types of resource are available : the multi-volume encyclopaedic dictionary and the multilingual schematic glossary. Both have obvious limitations. To engage in musical terminology is, however, to discover its complex synaesthetic, symbolic, and interdisciplinary implications, and develop communicative practices and sound expressions which relate to other languages.
