Magali Bessone addresses this paradox by returning to the distinction between ideal theory and non-ideal theory, which justifies this side-lining of racial inequality. This blind-spot makes us doubt the critical potential of the procedures which Rawls mobilises in order to found intuitions concerning justice objectively.
