AB  - This article analyses how writers at the turn of the twenty-first century observe social change in the family when representations of it, notably in the media, seem to be distorted by fantasies and fears. The same phenomenon distorts them: hyperbole and its rhetoric, which Marie NDiaye and Régis Jauffret are masters of, and through which the intense power of literary fiction over other types of discourse is manifested.
