AB  - The “troubadour time” seems to reflect the aspiration emanating from aristocratic circles, mainly women, towards greater personal freedom. Their chivalrous vision of honour, loyalty and friendship offered some kind of inversed symmetry to the ideal figure of the ‘sans culotte’ who were emerging at the same time.
