AB  - In 1742, Mme de Graffigny recounted a speech made to the Société du Bout-du-Banc. She did not name the author, but it was clearly an early version of “L’entretien de l’aumônier et d’Orou” from the Supplément au voyage de Bougainville by Diderot. This reading is all the more intriguing given that it was announced as a fragment of an ensemble “d’un dessein bien plus complet”. A new lead has thus materialised for those researching the composition of the Supplément.
