AB  - Many passages of the manuscript concern the assignation of a confessional identity to individuals. Beyond the question of the accuracy of these assignations, the social practices which they reveal throw light on the private sphere in which they can be rendered explicit and the underlying social norms that they imply. From this joyful disorder can be grasped a particular kind of critical apprehension of social life both through events and through texts. The intercrossing of the two aspects lends particular interest to this manuscript.
