AB  - This reading of the Roman de Tristran by Thomas d’Angleterre puts forward an interdisciplinary and genealogical approach which aims to take into account the syncretism of twelfth-century culture. Analysing three segments of the novel – notably the episode of the philtre, the first of Tristran’s two monologues, and the meeting with Tristran le Naim – we seek to illuminate both the episodes and the overall meaning of this version of the Tristran legend.
