AB  - Based on the ms. Fr. F. c XIV, 8 from the National Library of Russia, this article considers literary and political phenomena in France at the beginning of the sixteenth century. First, it deals with the manuscript’s key literary motifs, which helps to reconstruct the literary atmosphere of the French court. Next, an analysis of the political themes in the manuscript demonstrates the intellectual excitement engendered by the Italian Wars.
