AB  - The review Documents demonstrated a remarkable interest in popular forms of culture. It focused on cinema, music-hall spectacles, jazz, etc. However, these choices were hardly theorised. There was no reflection on industrial culture and the notion of “popular” was not collectively considered as one of salvation. It was not elaborated conceptually but used above all as a weapon against “great culture”.
