AB  - In the novel Don’t Tell Anyone (1994) by the Peruvian Jaime Bayly, a father seeks to convey his own vision of « masculinity » to his son. The result of this education is a partial failure at the very least. Traditional masculinity – that of the father – is not an essence but rather a social construction, and it can therefore be questioned, opening the door to an « alternative » masculinity represented by the son.
