The author shows that the engraver used production shortcuts by borrowing in other pictures postures unrelated with the topic and epoch of Lang’s book. It will be explained how these illustrations resulted from a negotiation between some artistic and workshop practices, the pedagogical needs of the treatise and the reader’s way of perceiving pictures.
