One of them is a famous drawing wrongly attributed for a long time to Abraham Bosse. It used to be given as an evidence of smallness and darkness of contemporary stages. This misinterpretation is the result of both a lack of knowledge about iconographic codes and an ideological bias that makes see this theatre as a supposedly archaic theatre.
