The use of constraint and the restriction of liberty to which it gives rise mean that psychiatrsts have had to confront various ethical and clinical issues. A qualitative survey in this field will make it possible to understand what an analysis of practices can bring to moral theory as well as to debates surrounding the existence and the reality of moral dilemmas.
