AB  - Éric Chevillard’s novels are willingly placed into spaces shielded from clock time: the anti-historical space of the cave (Préhistoire), the zoo of environmental disasters (Sans l’orang-outan), or the dystopian island (Choir). These critical territories ironically reverse the progressive utopia by exacerbating an apocalyptic imaginary. Exploding the humanist ideal, the narrator invents spaces of alterity which replay the scenario of the end without ever bringing it to a close.
