AB  - The series The Prisoner has singularities that can be used as a model for the analysis of narrative series patterns, including a meta-generic focus. The Prisoner foreshadows most narrative ­combinations that can be performed in television series. It sets the ambivalent status of series between pleasure of repetition and success, intimacy and closeness, versus ­confinement of actors in a role and subjection of audience.
