AB  - The American TV series Glee (Fox, 2009-) features many music genres and very often songs from the Broadway or the film musical songbook. These showtunes make it possible for the series to target a wide audience. This article focuses on two examples of Broadway shows used by Glee, and highlights significant formal and ­cultural adaptations. This analysis suggests above all moments of spectacle should be taken into account in order to understand the place of TV series in popular genres.
