AB  - Published in the 1570s, the trois Notaires by Jean Papon testifies to an effort of systematisation, characteristic of juridical humanism. The singularity of the work as a whole derives from the choice of subjects and the order in which they are treated, which responds to the needs of notaries (tabellions), the court, and the chancellery, and also to a political vision. The effort of systematisation is also mentionned in the first volume of the trilogy. While remaining faithful to Roman categories and solutions, Papon emphasises the role of will in contracts and wills.
