AB  - This article studies the discursive image of Lamartine which emerges from a cycle of three texts whose autobiographical character is made clear systematically : the Confidences, the Nouvelles Confidences, and the Mémoires inédits. It studies the different liminal or fragmented discursive strategies through which these three modes of memorial writing legitimise the transfer of the discourse on the self from the private sphere to the public sphere.
