AB  - To what extent was the Histoire de Jeanne Lambert d’Herbigny, a satirical novel composed by the Grande Mademoiselle, the source of her Mémoires ? Staging the self through the voice of a confidente imposed on Mlle de Montpensier a reconfiguration of her past while, at the same time, dispossessing her of it. These limits forced her to rewrite events. Memorial writing draws its inspiration and strength from what cannot be said. The Histoire and the Mémoires offer a new perspective on the genesis of a project.
