AB  - The techniques used in war films respond to trauma with an aesthetic of fragmentation. It is a question of thinking, by way of an analysis of the Fragments d’Antonin, about the temptation for total history versus the multiplicity of interpretations: the totalitarianism of the great narrative, the inevitably collective memory, and the inevitably consensual duty of remembrance carefully fragmenting itself into constituent parts.
