This contribution interrogates the philosophy of ideas in the fragmentary text. Thoughts which are “deposed” rather than “composed” (Thibaudet), “invertebrates” rather than “organic” (Benda), or “idea-phrases” which stay in the head (Barthes): fragmentary ideas distinguish themselves from philosophical ideas, often to their disadvantage.
