AB  - At the heart of French comedies from the late Renaissance period lies the conquest of a maiden who is compared to a city to be taken. The plays are full of mischievous allusions to the « door », referring alternately to the city, the house or the sex of the heroine. This study intends to deconstruct the phallocentrism on which the humorous poetics of the door is founded.
