AB  - Out of the twenty-five miniatures devoted to the Minéides, six decorate the frame-narrative which dramatises them, while the rest punctuate the fables they depict. To examine the insertion of the images into the text, as well as the fluctuating fidelity with which they illustrate these stories, is to acknowledge the similarities between the account of Pyramus and Thisbe and the other tales. In terms of edification, it is a case of illustrating the power of the double Venus.
