Research has revealed that this manuscript can be related to three folded folios that are now in Tours, which come from a fourth volume of this French translation by Jean de Vignay of the Speculum historiale. Moreover, this research has led to a reconstruction of the itinerary of this manuscript, from the king’s library, where it was originally held, to its final destination of Château-Renault (Indre-et-Loire department) after being owned successively by Louis VII of Bavaria, the Cabochien Garnot de Saint-Yon, Margaret of Burgundy, Charles of Orléans and his half-brother Jean of Dunois, the famous companion-in-arms of Joan of Arc.
