It’s the dandy who marks libertine French works in the eighteenth-century. In fact, several libertine novelists such as Crébillon, Duclos, La Morlière, Voisenon et Chevrier point out this character. The dandy proves an individual, who is a slave of fashion and prejudices, whose vanity and boredom are similar to those characterizing mundane coquettes.
