AB  - In ­Nerval’s Voyage en Orient the paradox reveals that the reference to religion is an illusion. It also reveals an awareness of what religion represents as an object and game of writing and its stakes for interpretation. The paradox defines the ­connection between this literary work and the ­conventional dimension of religion, in order to surpass it and ­confirm the ­author’s aspiration for recreation.
